Petoskey Flowers, Designed with Mother Earth in Mind

Our story

My first memory of flowers is drinking in the sweet, unmistakable scent of the hundred-year-old lilac bush on my grandmother’s property. I spent countless hours playing among its branches, a living witness to generations of my family’s history. I would carefully pluck my favorite stem and place it beside my bed, falling asleep as its blossoms perfumed the room. To this day, the first hint of lilac in spring brings me right back to her—and I can’t help but smile.

That early connection to flowers shaped the way I see beauty, memory, and meaning. At Pachamama Floral Design, we honor those connections by celebrating the natural world through thoughtfully curated, sustainable floral arrangements. Each piece is designed to foster joy, connection, and intention—grounded in nature, inspired by story, and created to mark life’s most meaningful moments.

Much love,

Picked with care

After years in the floral event industry, I began to notice how often flowers journeyed thousands of miles for a single day—carrying with them the unseen weight of pesticides, excess packaging, and waste. It became clear there was another way.

At Pachamama, we choose a slower, more intentional path—one guided by the seasons and rooted in the land beneath our feet. By sourcing locally grown blooms, we honor Michigan’s farming community and create designs that tread more lightly on the earth.

Sustainability in our weddings and events extends far beyond the flowers themselves. We design without floral foam, relying instead on natural supports, reusable vessels, and mechanics meant to be reused, repurposed, or gently returned to the earth. With intention and restraint, we allow flowers to move, breathe, and exist as they do in nature. Each arrangement is thoughtfully created to celebrate beauty without compromise—rooted in care for people, place, and Mother Earth.

Sustainable Practices

Local Flowers

We gather our flowers from local Michigan farmers and growers across the country, favoring those who tend the land with care and pour their hearts into every bloom. Each stem carries the love, labor, and life of the earth, connecting your celebration to the hands and soil that nurtured it.

Foam Free Designs

At Pachamama, we never use floral foam, synthetic sprays, or harmful chemicals, prioritizing both your safety and ours. Instead, we embrace reusable, natural materials—chicken wire, floral frogs, willow branches, and moss—to craft arrangements that are beautiful, sustainable, and kind to the Earth.

Composting

We compost all organic waste from weddings and events, returning it to local flower farms and our own garden. This rich soil nourishes next season’s blooms, closing the circle of growth with care and intention.
