East Coast Prep Meets Northern Michigan Charm: A Wedding to Remember

Mackinac Island, MI

There was something especially special about bringing East Coast prep and Northern Michigan charm together for this beautiful celebration. Inspired by their love for both places, the wedding blended polished East Coast details with the natural, relaxed character of Northern Michigan.

As both the planner and florist, we had the opportunity to bring their vision together from start to finish, from the overall design and logistics to the locally grown flowers that carried the look throughout the day.

The result was colorful, playful, and distinctly personal, with bright blooms, thoughtful details, and plenty of Northern Michigan charm.

East Coast Prep Meets Northern Michigan

The design was inspired by the couple’s love for both the East Coast and Northern Michigan, creating a playful mix of two very different but equally meaningful places.

Classic East Coast preppy elements were softened by the natural beauty of Northern Michigan, while locally grown flowers brought color, texture, and a relaxed seasonal feel to the celebration.

Rather than choosing between the two aesthetics, the wedding brought them together in a way that felt completely natural to the couple.

Locally Grown Flowers & Bright Pops of Color

The floral design centered around locally grown flowers and bright pops of color, creating arrangements that felt fresh, seasonal, and full of personality.

The flowers brought an easy Northern Michigan feel to the day while complementing the more polished East Coast inspired details. Seasonal blooms, natural textures, and vibrant colors kept the arrangements feeling organic and playful.

From bouquets and personal flowers to the ceremony and reception, the floral design helped create a cohesive look throughout the celebration while staying true to the couple’s vision.

From the Farm to the Ferry

One of our favorite parts of Northern Michigan weddings is everything that happens behind the scenes to get the flowers where they need to be.

For this celebration, that meant delivery, processing, arranging, loading onto the ferry, into horse drawn carriages, and finally to the venues.

There’s a lot that goes into getting wedding flowers to the aisle, especially when the celebration takes place in Northern Michigan. From working with local flower farms to coordinating transportation and installation, every step played a part in bringing the final design together.

And we love every second of it.

A Celebration That Felt Like Them

From the planning and design to the final floral details, every part of the wedding was created around what made this couple and their story unique.

The combination of East Coast prep, Northern Michigan charm, locally grown flowers, and bright pops of colorcreated a celebration that felt polished without being overly formal and colorful without feeling out of place.

It was a beautiful reflection of two places they love and a reminder that the best wedding designs are personal. They bring together the places, people, and details that mean the most.

East Coast spirit, Northern Michigan charm, and flowers grown close to home.
